inNature Nature management
Caring for the landscape – on nature's terms
At inNature, we actively work with nature conservation and landscape management on our 13-hectare site. We see it as part of our responsibility – and our pleasure – to create and maintain a varied, vibrant and balanced natural area where both wild species and people can thrive.
We use gentle methods and let nature's own processes be our guide. This means that we work with – not against – the natural cycle. Here, things grow wild and beautiful. Here, nature is allowed to take its time.
Our management includes:
- Afforestation and maintenance of mixed forest
- Haymaking on pastures and meadows
- Restoration and protection of bogs and wetlands
- Focus on biodiversity, habitats and native species
- Nature communication and dialogue with guests
We believe that humans and nature can coexist – not separately, but together. That is why we invite our guests to experience and learn from the living nature around us, and we organise our stays with respect for both the rhythm of nature and its vulnerability.
inNature Nature Management is:
- A place in development – but always rooted in nature
- A living process with room for both wildness and presence
- A contribution to a more sustainable and viable future
Do you see us with a backpack sprayer and strange tufts of wool hanging from the trees?
In our newly established forest, we have created fence-free passages for wild game. To protect the plants in the fence-free passages, we use Trico, a popular, natural-based repellent. Trico is primarily made from sheep fat and works by means of scent and taste, which keeps deer and hares away from trees and bushes. The product is waterproof, harmless to plants and animals, and approved for organic use. It provides effective protection against bite damage and gnawing, especially during the winter months.
As an extra deterrent against bite damage, we hang ram's wool on the trees.
The fence-free passages have been established to ensure that wild game continues to have free and easy access to our existing and older nature areas.
